Professional Chinese Whisper

click to decipher

This was sent to me by a fellow architect friend last week.
This scenario is geared towards us poor optimist architects who always dream and try to make something out of nothing.
But this might as well pertain to all other professional/consulatant professions where one has to rely on a command chain to execute a simple idea.

Thats what architects are meant to be paid for. carve out a plan that is tough or beyond comprehension for a common folk......

sorry for the go at architects, but in my field (IT) the technical architects are a cursed lot. (folks who design complex architecture for a software project or a system for a client)....

lol

@vitruvian
it seems wasteful but provides jobs to lot of people and food to their families - making mistakes and solving them are also part of the economy as it keeps the money rotating :) so according to me that is not wasteful

@anuj
it in every field - if we all knew the answers to all questions then only one of us was needed at all times
yes it doenst stop us from doing things - and we specially the architects are trained to feel guilty for not doing things like they want to.

@ashu
the crux of the problem is designers work anti logic - means that they dream up ideas that are then chisseled and carved to perfection by logical craftsman....
this struggle and skirmish is a never ending process like between the CREATOR (GOD) and the CREATED (US)

@pixie

@kp
like i mentioned above we are the most unappreciated buch of professionals out there - when every freaking being uses a structure designed by them....

Mr..This is not only for architects of ur type. I got this picture long back when I was working in Hyderabad. This is actually related to IT industry and its true. We have/having a nice experience with so called architects in industry. But there are great architects with whom I worked with.

your two cents are exactly what i believe is the actual problem

hence i have shut up

thanks for the visit...do keep coming.
yes when we say "those" school days we suddenly feel old....but they are as it they happened yesterday

ceedy said...

@compassion
thanks....

@jaggu
what do you mean type - dude we are the originals...the comp guys have borrowed the word "architect" and it seems that American Institute for Architects had opposed to the use of that title - as legally even we are not allowed to use it for business without being licensed....
but this problem is universal i guess....we see and listen what we want to not what is told to us

ceedy said...

@archituan
thanks for visiting

Basically nothing is original..eveything is myth in this world. Do you think you are original?..no..you are just a duplicate copy sent by god here for some specific work ( like doing architecture / writing blogs )..the original is somewhere in space...enough..:))...am dropping off for now...

i have to say, the "Designer's" version is pretty awesome!!

@jaggu
now talk about the real world as the image portrayed is a real world scenario and there as you have rightly pointed out to me several times there are RULES....and thats what I am talking about.
if you want to talk philosophy - drink a six pack of lemonade and then call me ;)

cool comic strip there...:)
and yeah does tell a thing or two...
firstly perhaps too many cooks spoil the broth...
secondly perceptions differ and only u know wht u really want, best...
and then last but not the least...u want something and life gives u something else...lol

sorry to be as cynical as always :D

cheers!!
