Lifes Resume

Was on a short break - have posted a long comment on the last post for everyone - there were interesting inputs and queries from some readers that I have addressed - do read it.

Another one of Calvin's little antics.
Makes me think and wonder - as an exercise - think if you can write an autobiography of yourself in a page or two.
It is a difficult task - writing about ones life - I cant seem to fit my resume on a page anymore - let alone about life.
Which leads to another question - what is it that we have done that is significant enough to be included in a biography for someone to read it. Or does everyone have to do something really significant to tell their story.
Does elaborate words and prose indicate a persons acheivement and greatness or a simple quiet demeanour - "I am happy with the flow of life" - an indication of a persons strength.
Just like it is important to make the right choices in ones life - it is important to have certain role models or mentors - to get the best out of you. Just like Eklavya had Drona.

Hi Ceedy,
I prefer to make my personal life private. I do not blog for myself but for my God. Suffice it to say that I am enjoying what I am doing. I also enjoy reading the posts of others. It widens my perspective in life. Thanks for the post though. God bless you and your family always.

hm.. an autobiography in two pages. well, abt my life, let alone two pages, two para will be more than enuf ;-) or should i outsource it too? :D

Well, I don't think anyone anywhere whoever is famous knew that, what they were going to do would make them famous enuf to write a biography :)

i m telling my story every day through my blog.. thats the latest trend :D
Well unlike urs I do write personal stuff, one of my friends warned me against it.. but its not Veens to be afraid of doing anything.. and the least asking for permission to tell yu what my life is all abt ;)

I have not read biographies as such.. I had a couple of Mahatma's and Nehru's bios.. but then they were too boring for me at that point of time.. not even now ;)

I dnt even think i have anything to write in my biography.. i dint do anything xtra ordinary.. other than may be cut my hands/ cut my own hair/ nothing interesting at all..
i dnt know what i will write .. may be
"my life is an open book, and it is right here on blogger... 2 blogs sums up my whole life ;"

hehhe!

mentor.. yes verr much! thats a good idea.. but it is not necessary kinds..and like in my case, I generally consider my dad and mom as my role model... thats about the only guy/gal in my whole life...i know who has done smething really xtraordinary ;)

bring up me...and make me what i m today :)

Rather interesting post,this!
Makes for introspection.

And 'tis true that choices make us what we are actually. Our significant actions make us appear black,white and grey.

:)

@mel
you did not read it fully i guess....
the post is not about hankering ones acheivements but a retrospection of what one is doing in life at this current moment

glad you are enjoying your journey and that for me is also a form of biography

@call for coexistence
thanks for visiting will visit you soon

@-xh-

its not so much about biography but to introspection

one does not have to really do smg great to write something just live in a right manner

yeah outsource it to where BTW?

ceedy said...

@veens
dont worry about long comments - atleast makes one happy that someone is reading :)

you are absolutly right....nobody knows the future...this is just an introspection for oneself

writing on the blog is also a comfort level one has with themselves - so one should do what one feels gud about

about history - its a whole big argument - will post smg on it...

well your two blogs are your own little biography - someone somewhere will read it and get what he/she wants

and about role models - again whoever makes you feel proud or emulate - they shld be the one

@clouds

you got to the crux of the post....

life has two parts - choices and actions and that is what makes the difference

Interesting, did you know that a book has been published which has famous personalities putting their life in only 'six words' imagine that! I tried it. Got 7. he heee here is the link,

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18768430

Personally i think, people who write autobiographies must love themselves to a certain extent. Like 'veens' here has written should be willing to share their life in words. For them their life is significant enough. The Other kind wouldn't take the trouble, they'd say "i am happy with the flow of life" or say nothing at all. Both have interesting stories to tell i'm sure of that.....

well...yea..the resume bit is soo true...
how do u fit your life in 2 pages???

but I think everyone has a significant life, that can make an interesting tale and I believe theres a reader for every word ever written.
So its upto the individual to pen the words down!

Mentors...yea..a guide to life is really important
Cheers!

To cut things short,
You r right Ceedy :)

I have no mentors!! And if I were to write an autobiography, it would not surpass the length of a dictionary.

ceedy said...

@preethi
thanks for the link - it is tough
but will try to frame it in six words....

yes i agree people who write autobiographies must love themselves....but more so - i feel that it shows the determination of these individuals and how one can learn from it - inspite of all hardships...

ceedy said...

@swathi

thanks for visiting.....and finally showing up :)

ceedy said...

@solitaire

well sometimes mentors dont have to be in front of you - they can be just someone who you aspire to be...

and about the dictionary - that is an open thing - could be one for kids or a full length websters...

ceedy said...

@vitruvian
thanks and i agree wid you

cheers and hic!!!

"does everyone have to do something really significant to tell their story."

- No way. An autobiography is nice to read mostly b'coz of the way it is written and not only b'coz of the story. Each one of our lives has interesting experiences and lessons that would make a great book! One should be able to recognise 'em and articulate 'em.!

Mentor - I just appreciate different qualities in different people. Can't name any 1 person as a mentor.

ceedy said...

@pavi

yeah that was what i was trying to portray - each of us is different...and significant....and each can teach and learn smg from others...

about mentors...
two ways to look a it
professionally if one has to excel - one needs to look upto someone....and try to emulate him/her
on personal level yeah what you say I agree with...

Doesnt Calvin come up with real introspective questions !!! Our choices and our actions on those choices make us what we are ...
Nice post...

everytime ive gotten impressed by someone (achievements, life, work), ive gone about and found more ...and then everytime ive realised that this is not how i would have wanted it...
sadly everything comes as a package deal in life and no package is perfect!!
its true ive liked some qualities in some people and sometimes i do strive to achieve what they have or even adopt those...
but i have no 'one mentor' as such...i keep learning, getting inspired by traits/qualities/achievements and im rather happy that way :)

ceedy said...

@pri
agreed...its what you feel necessaery and comfortable with that you need to follow.

about mentors...well it all depends - you can follow the person completely...like in my case i love work of an architect and his style of design....that enuf...cant live a life like him....
