SWOT Team

Tagged by Pavi to do a SWOT analysis - personal perception of the below:
Strengths
Weaknesses
Opportunities
Threats
Strengths:
- Love to explore many different things - (life has so much to offer)
- Have a photographic memory (am able to recollect things whether client details, book pages or places I have travelled to)
- Always see the positive in any situation (beleive everything that happens has a reason )
- Can visualize and sketch precisely in 3 dimensions (part of it is training as an architect)
- Can gauge peoples mood and intentions and react accordingly (helps dealing with clients)
- Always jovial, you cannot have a dull moment around me
- Need only 6 hours of sleep - and am a good power napper (10 mins ) and I will be fresh

Weaknesses:
- Cannot say NO to anyone - end up doing most of the work for others
- Curb my resentments and avoid arguments - it bites back eventually
- Being jovial always is a weakness as people think I am never serious
- Being inquisitive for many things makes me restless
- Can be ruthless sometimes (speakah the truth) as I am upfront

Opportunities:
This is vague as this analysis is for business modules
Opportunities in life have to be created - if I feel I can do something or is good for me - I simply go try it - without thinking of consequences
If it works its great and if not - well I learn a good lesson
Atleast there is no - What if I had done this or that.....Its done.

Threats:
Again this is vague. There are external threats that one cannot forecast - all one can do is be ready to face them.
On the personal front - you could be your worst threat
Say if you have made a mistake - and you keep resenting it - you make yourself and everyone around you sick.....

This was a difficult TAG - a complete LEFT BRAIN activity - logical, rational etc etc, which I rarely use -have never done anything like this before - so Pavi let me know if this was the right direction.

According to your Myers-Briggs, you are a THINKER. That way, your left brain should be being used more..

good job here, mate :-D this is one difficult tag for sure...
me too have a photographic memory, but my emmory card keeps formating by itself... saying NO without hurting is a art whichis very difficult to master...

@solitaire
Yes am a Thinker - and here is the difference

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

I know sure I am a Right Brain Person - plus being "left handed" right brain is more active...

Ceedy, waow.. You did it jus fine :)

Being jovial always is a weakness as people think I am never serious

tell em about this...people smirk when I say I think as well :(

In the comment box reply to solitaire is jus WAOW!

I have a very bad memory :(

Can be ruthless sometimes (speakah the truth) as I am upfront to my loved ones most ofthe time.. people who mean a lot to me.. I hurt them the most by being too upfront!

and so many other poibts too... lemme do my analysis ;) i m sure i dnt even use 5% of my brain!

Mez said...

That was a tough nut..
Project ka SWOT analysis thik hai, but khudka....?
Went thru this while on internship.
Boss bola khudka ek SWOT analysis chart taiyar karo..
Khopdi ghoom gayi thi us din.
And then in the evening he sat down with me on the chart and spent a fcking 3 hrs eating my gray matter..!!!

aneri_masi said...

That "can't say no" is a killer, isn't it?
And totally, totally agree with "you can be your own threat!"

great points!

Mez said...

Neeku left dedication for u.

ceedy said...

@veens

cool comment for the analysis....

that was a partial SWOT analysis of yourself...

about being honest - I think I like the gandhian philiosohpy...say the truth cause if you try to hide something it just haunts you back

ceedy said...

@solitaire

yup I was THINKING about my reply to you - and I felt I have both my brains working...
guess these tests are only for NORMAL PEOPLE :)

ceedy said...

@cinderella

Yeah, totally agree - this is tough - and you face the similar condition when you first start to meditate....the mind wanders everywhere except nowhere....

I think for us architects or any designers - this kind of analysis only holds true when we are construction managers or project managers....

Hey thnx for doin the tag!
ur positives are really nice postivies to have if u know wat i mean..Oppurtunies and Threats is confusing to handle n ur soooo right about creating oppur for oneself!

BTW..There is no right or wrong direction. I wanted every1 to perceive it in their own manner, one of the primary reasons why I dint do this tag.

n SORRY...but tagged u again. I can assure u ur not gonna like this one ;-)

We are similar.At least the weaknesses part. * same pinch *

Mel Avila Alarilla said...

Yes, I agree with you. It is a difficult tag but you were able to answer the questions with flying colors. Your answers revealed so much about you- how you think and react to situations. You are still active in your job as an architect that is why your thinking is very analytical. As you grow older, your thinking processes would be more philosophical and subjective. Objectivity is a young man's trait. Thanks for the intelligent post. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Cinderella said...

Yeah..thats correct.

Romila said...

Looks like you just got shortlisted for the next round of interview. Congrats! you did brillinatly. I would like to master the art of power napping from you. What say, any approach to it?

KP said...

will do....:). I have few tags pending from few peepz....:). will try to get it this weekend...:)

ceedy said...

@kp

BTW yesterday I forgot to mention about the project...

Its slow process as the client can only meet us on Saturdays.

Will have some preliminary ideas next week, will email you

Pri said...

i share almost all the weakneeses u cited there :( except mebe the first one (i believe i can be pretty blunt when i dont want to do a certain thing and nothing in the world can getme to do something i wouldent want to do..but guess it can be labelled as stubborn wch again is somewhat a weakness sometimes)

as for the strengths, u forgot to mention one thing wch u r blessed with---ur strength to play with words in a straightforward and honest manner and encaptivate the minds of soo many through ur writing...:)

ceedy said...

@ d sinner

thanks!!!

ceedy said...

@gunj

i still do not get a good job - so what the point :)

ceedy said...

@clouds

heheh - ouch!!!

ceedy said...

@mel

thank you friend for you ever so indepth comments...

yes the pattern is very analytical true...its the reflection of the current state of being and thoughts
i guess.....

ceedy said...

@romila

Sad - but I am at a stage where I dont want to work for anyone anymore - just be my own boss - and how can I not hire ME

about power nap....not a expert advice just sharing smg....comes thru yoga n meditation - simply learn to shut yourself every now and then from all thougts - you dont even have to sleep - you will feel fresh - best times - making tea or coffee - just listen to the sound of the bubbles or smg like taht - mundane from your life...with time it becomes natural

ceedy said...

@pri

I guess I was like you at a point of time - personal life I can do that sometimes but at work it becomes difficult - you will learn ;P

and for the second part - I appreciate your appreciation - it will sound like I am blowing my trumpet - if I wrote it myself....

thank you now it inspires me to vouch for the king of PJ's world crown :) (to be read in brackets)

An in depth self-analysis eh!Cool :)

Rho Tau GWIS said...

Thats pretty cool that you have a photographic memory.

Only 6 hours of sleep??? Gosh, if I don't get my beauty sleep of at least 8 hours, I get sooo cranky!

Rho Tau GWIS said...

BTW, I am also a Gujju, and in your neighborhood (Philly)!!
What were those Gujarati restaurants you had mentioned in someone's blog? I must check them out now!

Rho Tau GWIS said...

Thanks a bunch Ceedy for those recommendations!!! We will be checking out Jhupdi next weekend..looked at the menu and it is irresistible!!

ceedy said...

@deepali

yeah kind of cultivated it over the years as I have to remember all sorts of quirks in designs and site....it creeped into daily life

@sameera

yeah......kafi ghera hai....

ceedy said...

@carolinagal

enjoy and have ample time to drive back....as after you stuff yourself driving back will be difficult....also if you like "pan" a digestive helper - its available next door

Romila said...

Hey, ceedy, thanks for the tip on power napping. My husband always recommend I try some meditation/yoga to sleep short and sleep well. Never listened to him, now that you said the same thing...maybe I might take a shot at it. Thanks.

Rho Tau GWIS said...

Thanks Ceedy. Yes, I have tried 'paan' and am not a huge fan unfortunately. The one and only time my fiance' and I have tried it, was also in Edison when some other Indian friends of ours took us to sample some Indian 'fast food.' We also sampled some 'sugar cane juice' at that time. I somehow managed to swallow the paan after dinner, but Brett was not so lucky! All the yummy food came right out with it :(
